These are a very popular means of rapidly racking long lengths of extrusions, although they do find application with some type of fabricated parts. They are especially valuable in electrolytic colouring, since when titanium jigs are used a ring of interference colours is produced around the contact points. There are a number of variants available, such as the following:

• Plastic contact surface back and front
• Plastic contact at back but alumina tip at front
• Alumina tips both back and front
